Seeing Todd Butler in Nanaimo this past weekend, at the 50 seat Blues Underground, reminded me of just how good and freaking funny he is. The video below contains the bit from his act where he plays his guitar on his back -- no, not lying on his back -- on his back (as you'll see).

Two profound questions have been keeping me awake at night lately: 1) why has Seth Rogan lost all that weight?, and 2) why is Seth Rogan successful? Both questions have been answered by this video of him performing stand-up at the age of 13 in Vancouver. Answer 1: that's actually his natural weight, and 2) actually, he's a pretty funny writer.

At any rate, he was when he was 13.

We're working on a multimedia essay for backofthebook.ca about the Silva Bay Boat School on Gabriola Island, the last wooden boat building school in Canada. In the photo section below you'll find a sneak preview of some of the pics we're working with, taken by Aidan Moher, not yet photoshopped, pretty much not yet organized.
